The circle of 220 islands that forms the Cyclades in the Aegean Sea has, at its centre, the perfect place for a luxurious break: Santorini is where you can kiss the summer goodbye in true style. Away from the drama of your hectic life, allow your Travel Manager to organise every aspect of your journey – from beginning to end. From the moment you arrive by private helicopter at your own luxurious accommodation to the moment you say goodbye, your Santorini experience is bound to be unlike any other.

Dreamy Santorini is everything you wish from Greece and a little bit more. There are whitewashed villas surrounded by antiquated windmills – yet here they cling to dramatic clifftops that overlook an impossibly blue sea. In the background you can admire the caldera of a volcano that smokes evocatively away as you marvel at the sunsets, sip champagne and enjoy the very best that Santorini has to offer.

Where to stay

Your Travel Manager will check you in to a hillside hotel with caldera views in Firostefani, Fira, Imerovigli and, best of all, Oia. Here you will find modern luxury in ancient dwellings – historic caves have been transformed into modern, luxurious hotels, where the emphasis is on decadence.

You can be assured that your Travel Manager will select one of the finest destinations for you to stay in: here are three of our personal favourites:

Canaves Oia Hotel Santorini

A sleek and intimate all-suite resort perfectly placed for achingly beautiful sunsets. Set in a former 17th century winery, each suite features its own cave-based pool. We will book you into the Presidential Suite for the sheer magic of a plunge pool accessed via a wardrobe in the bedroom.

Katikies

Clinging to the cliff edge like sugar cubes tumbling down a hill these suites include two that are in the 18th century former home of a noble family. Stunning interiors, glorious sea views and an infinity pool to die for, but it’s the intimate rooftop terrace restaurant that we recommend you must try. It serves the island’s best seafood.

Grace Santorini

For a fully customised travel offering, we recommend the bespoke by Grace Hotels range. Here, you can ensure that each and every element of your stay caters to your needs, even before you turn up. It’s the small details that count: from making sure it’s your preferred scent on your pillows, to the right bottle of champagne (or two, or three!) in your room on an evening.

What to eat

Seafood takes centre stage in Santorini, as you might expect. However, our team recommend you taste the wild capers – try them and you’ll see what we mean!

Selene (Pyrgos)

Don’t miss the sea urchin and artichoke salad, brodedo (fish stew) and any dish that uses the local wild capers.

1800 (Oia)

As mature and seasoned as its 200-year-old premises, this restaurant has definitely stood the test of time.

Ni Chteri

This is fine dining on Santorini done to the highest standard. If you’re looking for classic dishes like cod in a caper batter with sea-green salad, or calamari with kinoa salad or a traditional souvlaki, you will find them all present at Ni Chteri, all elevated to a premium standard.

What to drink

There are plenty of opportunities for sundowners as the whitewashed houses are tinged orange, rose and red but, arguably, the best spot for drinks is on the deck of a yacht cruising the deep blue waters of the coast

Domaine Sigalas (Oia)

The classic spot to sample Santorini’s finest vintages accompanied by its tastiest nibbles.

Be merry

What could make you happier than chartering your own yacht and sailing off into the yonder? An ice bucket and bubbly, of course!

Charter a yacht and head out to the satellite islands of Thirassia, Palea Kameni and Nea Kameni to take in the views and enjoy the best beaches.

Santorini Yachting Club is a yachting charter company with an exquisite heritage and some stunning yachts. The Triantafillou family were the owners of the first ever yachting company on Santorini and should be your first port of call for a beautiful boat to appreciate this beautiful island from.

At Simplexity, we can arrange your yacht travel for you: from the best routes to the finest dining experiences and beach parties. Whatever you desire, we can facilitate it for you.

Experience shopping to rival Milan or Paris

For the discerning shopper, Santorini is a millionaire’s paradise. Thira is the central market and people come from around the island and beyond for a taste of paradise. Ipapantis is the main area and, nicknamed ‘Gold Street’, it specialises in jewellery. With designer labels such as Versace and Armani plus art, pottery and local produce, this is a truly special shopping destination, and makes for the perfect land day for your yacht.

Η ζωή είναι ωραίαas they say in Santorini.

Life is, indeed, very sweet
