My main role at Simplexity is as an Accounts Assistant, which is a role that comprises a number of different things. From communication with suppliers (hotels, airlines etc.), checking their invoices and statements and comparing it to invoices we issued to our clients accordingly, to reconciling, requesting commissions, refunds, disputing the charges, checking for any procedure news/updates, processing the reports (both for suppliers and clients), and any other accounts related job upon request (i.e. making tea, eating sushi, annoying everyone etc.).
I came to travel management as it covers a number of my various interests: civil engineering, which I studied in university (although seemingly boring, was really interesting) and then the crazily opposite PR and Marketing! It’s also perfect because I love travelling and I wanted to know the best ways of doing it, but once I started to work in travel I enjoyed the work process itself as well.
One of the best things about Simplexity is our team – which is amazing. I love helping Vicky Lee and assisting her in more aspects of her job. There’s a brilliant team energy in the Simplexity office, and I love coming to work each day and being surrounded by motivational people.
Outside of work, I’m an avid traveller, and some of my favourite destinations are Spain, Cyprus, Germany, Russia – basically, nearly all European destinations. Places I’m dreaming of visiting are Italy, the US, Australia and New Zealand. When I have any spare time, I like to take full advantage, pursuing activities like travelling (evidently!), reading, roller-skating, gym, ice-skating, swimming, dancing, oil painting, writing, playing computer games, walking, and photography. I can also do all of this in two languages as I speak both English and Russian.
Interesting facts about me: I’m learning how to plan in advance, I don’t like hotel breakfasts (unless it’s a Marriott or similar) and I’m afraid of waterparks (and yes, I’m a very boring person).
