Airbus A321LR Takes First Transatlantic Flight
The Airbus has completed its first transatlantic flight and is expected to enter service later this year.
The single-isle plane flew from Paris to New York’s JFK, which demonstrates the aircraft’s ability to serve the heavily travelled North Atlantic routes.
With that route, the A321LR has a range of 7,400km, which allows it to operate routes such as New York-Paris, Lisbon-Recife, Dubai-Beijing, Kuala Lumpur-Tokyo and Singapore-Sydney.
Even though the aircraft took its first flight at the end of January, it will complete around 100 hours of test flights in advance of the jetliner’s certification.
