Book yourself an afternoon tea – a tradition instilled during British colonisation from 1920 to 1963 –
at Giraffe Manor. As one of Nairobi’s most iconic buildings, Giraffe Manor has extraordinary appeal. It is set in 12 acres of private land, in turn located within 140 acres of indigenous forest, which harks back to the 1930s when European visitors first flocked to East Africa to enjoy safaris. Giraffe Manor offers a unique opportunity to meet the resident giraffes, all of whom are the endangered Rothschild species that can only be found in East Africa. If you’re lucky, a giraffe or two may join you on your afternoon tea; they often poke their heads through the dining room windows in search of a tasty snack.

Climate

Nairobi has a subtropical highland climate, the sunniest and warmest time of year would be between the months of December and March when the average temperature is 24 C.

Language

The official language of Kenya is Swahili but English is widely spoken and understood.
