2015 at Simplexity: a Year of Building Success in the Travel Industry


After a year of growth and new opportunities, Head of Business Development Mark Smith looks back at the highlights of a terrific year in the luxury travel industry, as well as looking ahead to exciting developments in 2016 and beyond.

The previous twelve months have been a great time at Simplexity Travel Management. We have grown our sales and our resources, made exciting new partnerships and expanded further into the events and hospitality markets.

New Faces and Places

One of the biggest changes to the feel of Simplexity is that we have nearly doubled our staffing, from five to nine over the past year. This extra firepower has allowed us to really press on. Where we now operate at three separate office locations, we look forward to moving into one space in 2016.

Securing the new Mayfair office on a five-to-ten year lease means we have a permanent home for the long run that we can truly make our own. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at the company for their hard work and diligence in getting us to this point. It has been integral to our success this year. Everyone here has played their part and is equally responsible for our success this year.

Expanding in the Travel Industry

2015 was saw big sales growth for Simplexity. We doubled our turnover this year to over £6m. A big part of this was taking on some key new accounts and making strategic partnerships.

A big development is our new partnership with Virtuoso. This has given us access to 18,000 new suppliers, opening a whole world of new opportunities for our clients. We will look to expand our profile within the Virtuoso network going into 2016 to continue making the most of the resources available to us.

Another relationship we were happy to make in 2015 was with Norwich City Football Club, for whom we will now be the preferred travel supplier on a four-season contract. It is fantastic to work with such a prestigious club in the biggest league in the world, and we look forward to being part of their success in coming years.

Looking ahead to 2016

The challenge for us next year will be showing potential clients just how we can add value to their travel plans: be it business or leisure travel. Our new website will be instrumental in this, as will our new location.

Online, we are totally redesigning the website, making it easier to find out about our services, showcasing a new range of ‘Simple Inspiration' package products and bringing the site into line with our vision of the Simplexity brand going forward.

As we consolidate our office space and are able to work more closely together, we look forward to being able to present the Simplexity brand to the market in a strong, unified way that expresses our values of personalised service and attention to detail.

We are also looking to continue using our assets at Wembley Stadium, Wembley Arena and the O2 Arena to give our clients VIP access to the best London has to offer in concerts and entertainment.

We expect to have very successful year in 2016, and with the hard work of all the team, we are sure to deliver excellent service to our clients and continue to grow as London's premier luxury travel management company.
