Nestled against the snow-capped trees and white slopes of one of Europe’s most exclusive ski resorts, Verbier, lies The Lodge, the mountain retreat of Sir Richard Branson. With an altitude of 1500m rising to 3330 m, the views are spectacular, and the skiing unrivalled.

The Lodge offers just 9 bedrooms and suites sleeping a maximum of 18 adults at one time. It also offers a ‘bunk room’ available for up to 6 children who will receive a welcome pack on arrival. And there’s no chance of them being bored – available on request are children’s DVDs, toys, Xbox, books, games and a pre-arranged treasure hunt.

The Lodge is approximately a 2-hour drive from Geneva airport – or a chartered plane can land at Sion airport just 45 minutes away.

In between skiing, partying, and deciding whether to have a second slice of cake at afternoon tea (the answer is always yes), you’ll be indulging in the chefs’ many creations. Breakfast starts early and finishes when the last person gets up, so nobody misses out. When it comes to dinner the chef is happy to make some suggestions, or be steered by you if you have some particular favourites. Their ‘open kitchen’ is a great option for guests to interact with the head chef and cooking demonstrations can be arranged.

Other facilities within the lodge include an indoor and outdoor jacuzzi, a 9m indoor heated pool, Spa with treatment room, small gym and steam room, Games room including a pool table, bar, large screen TV, a DVD and music library, and a PlayStation 3.

The Lodge is only a 250m stroll from the main lift station and it is very easy to walk into town. During Ski season, it offers a 24-hour shuttle around Verbier. Due to its secluded location, you cannot ski out of the property however guests can easily ski into The Lodge on an intermediate run via a little shortcut through the trees!

There is a vast area for skiing suitable for beginners, intermediates and advanced skiers and snowboarders. Guests can ski in 4 valleys, with over 400km of runs. The Lodge will help you to arrange lift passes, equipment hire with boot fitting on arrival and tuition for all levels  – including heli-skiing.  Verbier also offers husky sledding, snowshoe walking and paragliding.

Usually reserved for private hire only, The Lodge is opening up during Ski season for celebration weeks, allowing you the amazing chance to stay here as a smaller group.
