Airlines That Are in a Class of Their Own

The 2025 AirlineRatings World’s Best Airline Cabin Class Awards recognised the top performers across First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy. These awards highlight the airlines that offer the highest levels of comfort, service and value for travellers within each cabin class.

World’s Best First Class: Singapore Airlines

Singapore Airlines’ flagship suites aboard the A380 have redefined luxury. Each suite offers between 3.23 and 4 square metres of space, with sliding doors providing privacy. The highlight is the separate foldout double flatbed, the bedhead of which is equipped with a gas spring, allowing passengers to comfortably watch movies while reclining. Other highlights include a 32” HD touchscreen monitor paired with Bang & Olufsen noise-cancelling headphones, an enhanced KrisWorld entertainment system that saves playlists and preferences for future flights and an electrically controlled armchair, which moves through 270-degrees.

World’s Best Business Class: Qatar Airways – Qsuite

Qatar Airways’ Qsuite, arranged in a 1-2-1 layout, features fully enclosed private suites with sliding doors, offering passengers complete privacy. For couples or those travelling together, the Qsuite allows two adjacent suites to convert into a double bed configuration, one of the few Business Class options to provide a true “bed for two.” A bespoke turndown service complete with pillows, a quilted mattress and a soft plush blanket is now complemented by The White Company sleepwear and slippers. Qatar will elevate the experience still further this year with the launch of the game-changing Qsuite Next Gen, featuring wider seats, longer beds, greater privacy and upgraded technology, including 4K OLED manoeuvrable in-flight entertainment screens, an industry first.

World’s Best Premium Economy: Emirates and Qantas Tie for First Place

Whilst many airlines provide features such as leg rests, generous recline, wider seats, amenity kits, business-class-style dining and enhanced in-flight entertainment in Premium Economy, Emirates and Qantas excelled across all areas equally.

Emirates’ passengers can relax on wider, cream leather seats with six-way adjustable headrests and raised cushioned leg rests and enjoy an elevated dining experience featuring meals served on Royal Doulton china. The airline has been expanding this offering, with plans to introduce the cabin on flights from London Stansted from this May. Superior features found onboard Qantas’ Premium Economy offering meanwhile include a dedicated check-in counter, priority boarding lane and disembarkation access, extra legroom, wider seats, noise-cancelling headphones and a multi-course dining experience.

World’s Best Economy Class: Korean Air

Korean Air has set the benchmark in Economy Class thanks to its exceptional comfort and most spacious economy seating in the world. Explains AirlineRatings.com, “While many airlines have added a 10th seat per row on 777 aircraft and reduced the seat pitch in economy class to 31-32 inches (down from the previous 32-33 inches), Korean Air chose not to follow this trend.” In addition, passengers are given extra comforts such as slippers and enjoy “exceptional” dining.
