The Summer’s Celebrity Hotspot Destinations
When it comes to holidays, celebrities have the world to choose from. Seeing where people go when money and influence is no barrier is a great way to discover the best holiday locations out there.
Here, we look at this year’s most popular celebrity destinations. If you see something you like, simply call our Luxury Travel Managers to plan your next holiday.
St. Tropez
This seaside town on the French Riviera is always a popular destination for celebrities, and as soon as you arrive, you understand why.
With little over 5000 inhabitants, this sunbathed little town is a world away from the bright lights and busy streets of London, LA and Paris. St. Tropez offers city-smothered stars the chance to unwind and relax amid Sothern France’s legendary food and hospitality.
That’s not to say the place doesn’t get busy – it is a popular location, but a refined one. If visiting during the busy summer months, stay at the Pan Dei Palais Hotel to ensure you have somewhere quiet to retire to.
Let Klara book you a room during the famous Cannes Film Festival. A special time for the whole area, you can commute from your beautiful Asian-influenced hotel, down towards Italy to Cannes. It is one of the world’s most stunning drives along the Riviera coast; just watch out for the infamous traffic.
For a cool beach hangout, head to Club 55. Aside from being a popular celeb hotspot (Jay Z and Beyoncé went this year), they also serve great food. Take your favourite summer wrap and linens, and head to this chic beach lounge.
Lake Como
This luscious Lombardy lake may have been made famous by this year’s Clooney wedding, but it has always been a top A-list destination.
Como is Italy’s third biggest lake, though its peculiar shape, resembling the Manx flag has it feeling like a reclusive lagoon throughout. To the north are Switzerland and the Alps. To the south, Milan’s famous fashion temples.
In the eponymous town of Como, stay at the world-famous Villa D’Este. This palatial villa backs right onto the water for the most splendid views of the lake. For a night of luxury you won’t forget, secure the Cardinal Suite – as long as the world’s top stars haven’t beaten you to it!
The suite is decorated in the classic Lombardino style, cream walls, muted orange fittings and beautiful matching furniture. You will have 1162 sq ft to yourself, plus 968 sq ft of terrace to soak up the Italian sunshine.
New York
New York is an obvious choice for celebrities. It’s arguably the cool-capital of the world, with enough to do to keep a New Yorker content for a lifetime. You already know all about New York, so we will just skip straight to the celebrity hotspots.
If you want a bite of the Big Apple with the celebrities, you can have it at The Spotted Pig, foremost British/Italian eatery in West Village, Manhattan, and perhaps even the world. Somehow combining a Michelin star with a no reservations policy, The Spotted Pig is the hottest place to eat in New York’s coolest area.
Any given menu isn’t around for long, but expect delights like burgers, steak and scallops, with drinks from New York’s enviable cocktail heritage. After dinner, had across to Tao Downtown’s lounge. This trendy nightclub has seen some huge names appear behind the decks, and massive celebrities in front of them. Open until 4am, you might never want to leave this sanctuary of low-key cool in the heart of the city that never sleeps.
