After months of lockdown, we can finally leave our homes for overnight stays and holidays. To celebrate, we have picked five of our favourite UK hotels, each of which will have added something a little different to their offering when they throw open their doors this spring/summer.

Coworth Park – North Lodge

Dorchester Collection’s Michelin starred country house hotel and spa has unveiled a new three-bedroom private stand-alone gatehouse cottage.

Offering the ultimate staycation, North Lodge at Coworth Park has a private driveway, three spacious bedrooms – two of which feature a signature copper bathtub – lobby and  a stunning open plan dining room and kitchen. Guests can cook for themselves or have a dedicated chef cater for them.

North Lodge has been carefully restored and designed to capture the hotel’s charm and residential origins while introducing artwork by local artists to create a stylish yet cosy English country escape. The interiors echo the changing seasons of Coworth Park, with charming antiques sourced from the local villages and neighbouring Windsor.

Guests staying at North Lodge have full access to The Spa at Coworth Park, Equestrian Centre and a choice of various dining facilities on the estate, providing the option of total privacy or instant access to luxurious five star services.

The Coniston Hotel – Nàdarra Spa

The Coniston Hotel Country Estate & Spa will reopen this spring with a much enhanced spa.

Nàdarra Spa, which means ‘natural’ in Scottish Gaelic, now features two infinity pools with commanding views across the 1,400-acre estate, lake and Yorkshire Dales; a lake view terrace with relaxed seating, fire pits and a covered outdoor bar; a 15m indoor swimming pool with a thermal experience including an infrared sauna, Finnish sauna, Himalayan sauna, aromatherapy steam room, indoor bubble pool and ice fountain; a luxury couples suite including double spa bath and mud rasul.

A spectacular private spa garden has also been created complete with a relaxation pod, loungers and two outdoor baths boasting the most incredible views.

The Nare – Whittington Suites

Loved for its quintessential charm and traditional hospitality, The Nare – a country house hotel that stands alone in its own bay above a beautiful long sandy beach on Cornwall’s Roseland Peninsula – offers a standard of luxury unrivalled in the South West. Now this five-star sanctuary has introduced four new master suites which are expected to be the largest sea-view hotel suites in Britain.

The new accommodation is situated over two floors (two suites on each level). The largest suite has four rooms and measures 132m2. Two suites may be combined to give the freedom of a whole floor, or all four to form a completely private part of the hotel.

Each suite has a dedicated entrance and offers stunning coastal and sea views across Carne Beach and Gerrans Bay, while artwork from Cornish artists adds traditional Nare character.

Haycock Manor Hotel – Prévost Restaurant

The historic Haycock Manor Hotel in Peterborough is the new home of Prévost, Lee Clarke’s fine dining restaurant serving progressive modern British cuisine.

Prévost is housed in a stunning, newly constructed 40-seater glass-panelled orangery overlooking the grounds. It offers two tasting menus comprising seasonal dishes using ingredients from meticulously sourced artisan producers and produce grown in the hotel’s kitchen garden.

The restaurant is the first phase of the multi-million pound restoration of the magnificent Grade II* listed buildings at the Haycock Manor which will also see the unveiling of 49 bedrooms. The second phase will be completed in August and will comprise the launch of a cookery school and farm shop, with a spa and riverside glamping site to open in early 2022.

Cameron House – Luxury Suites

When this five-star resort, ideally located in the heart of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, reopens this summer, guests will be able to enjoy sensitively refurbished accommodation, spearheaded by 26 individually designed suites.

The resort’s most exclusive rooms, The Cameron, a duplex penthouse with two separate terraces, and The Tower Suite, located in the original mansion tower, exemplify luxury living at its finest.
