Get a sneak peek at the treasures of Adare Manor
In January 2016, Adare Manor, closed its doors for an 18-month refurbishment.
During the on-going restoration, the luxury hotel has discovered some hidden treasures in the oldest parts of the house.
Adare Manor revealed that one of the objects found is a piece of wood with inscription on both sides. According to the hotel, the inscriptions are the signatures of past tradesmen who worked in the Manor Estate, with the oldest dating back to 1909.
Found in the original part of the house is an old bottle of Guinness and packet of Players Navy Cut Cigarettes. The label on the bottle specifies the batch number and the date the barrel was dispatched. The bottle dates back to the 11th of January 1928.
The luxury hotel also revealed that the old game keeper’s cottage, dating back to 1843, has been restored to its former glory.
Adare Manor is set to reopen in September 2017.
