British Airways has announced it will move from Terminal 7 to Terminal 8 at New York’s JFK airport in 2022. Over the next four years, more than £250 million will be invested to recreate and customise the terminal, which BA will share with its joint venture partner American Airlines. Changes will include additional stands, enhanced state-of the-art baggage systems, new lounges, premium check-in areas and upgraded concessions.

JFK’s operator, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, will be a key investor in the project, along with American.

With the move still four years away, BA will pump another £52 million into the existing facility in Terminal 7 which will provide “brand new lounges for First and Club World customers and an upgraded customer experience for all customers.”
