In very welcome news for travellers, the European Parliament has approved legal changes to ensure that UK citizens will not need a visa to travel to the EU for short periods after Brexit, even in the event of a no-deal exit.

The move allows for stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period, but does not grant the right to work.

MEPs voted overwhelmingly in favour of the concession – provided EU nationals enjoy the same conditions when travelling to the UK.

This follows on from the confirmation a few weeks ago that flights will continue to operate, even in a no deal scenario.

This means that two of the most important concerns for UK tourists and business travellers visiting the EU have been addressed and will provide a further boost to confidence about travel as and when Brexit finally takes place.
