Le Meridien Unveils Visconti Rome Refurb
Previously operated as the independent Visconti Palace Hotel, Le Meridien recently revealed the newly renovated Le Meridien Visconti Rome located near the Vatican.
The 240-room hotel underwent renovations in its public areas and guestrooms renovated in a classical style. Prioritizing the city’s historical significance, the renovations feature “geometrical references to Rome’s fabled treasures including the Pantheon.”
The interiors offer a nod to the famous works of Gio Ponti, an Italian designer and architect. This design move honours the property’s original construction in the 1970s, the same time that Ponti’s works were popular.
Each room’s design was inspired by Roman architectural materials including natural stone finish to the wall and travertine touches.
Guests can also gain free access to La Galleria Nazionale di Arte Moderna by presenting their room key. This comes as part of Le Meridien’s Unlock Art Programme.
