Budapest Airport is expanding...
A new 220-meter-long pier has been approved be constructed at Budapest Airport.
The new pier, called Pier B will be connected with Terminal 2B of Budapest Airport and is designed to support the increased demand of wide body stands, offering 27 new boarding gates and 10 new bridges.
The planned pier will provide maximum flexibility, as each boarding gate facility will accommodate boarding via bridge, bus, or by a short walk. Pier B will also be able to serve both narrow-body and wide-body aircraft, and depending on aircraft size it can offer an increased number of stands in certain configurations.
Jost Lammers, the CEO of Budapest Airport said “Pier B is part of the development strategy to improve the capacity whilst ensuring great passenger experience which helps Budapest Airport to maintain its regional leading position amongst airports handling over ten million passengers per year.”
The construction of Pier B will begin in January 2017 and is expected to take 18 months to complete.
