Stansted to submit planning application to for new arrivals building

London Stansted airport have announced plans to build a new 34,000 sqm arrivals building.

The proposed building will span across three floors and will be carried inside the existing footprint of the airport, located next to the current terminal and the Radisson Blu Hotel.

With passenger numbers expected to increase, the plans include a larger immigration and baggage reclaim area, new retail facilities and a public forecourt to generate a relaxing and welcoming environment for passengers.

The current terminal building will be rearranged and dedicated to departing passengers, with more space at check-in, security and within the international departures lounge.

The £130 million project is expected to take three years to complete.
