TWA Hotel at New York JFK Will Feature Restaurant in a Vintage Aircraft
The TWA terminal at New York’s Kennedy International airport has been vacant for 15 years but will welcome travellers and guests in a new fashion come late 2018 or early 2019.
Plans for the $265-million project include two new hotel towers with 505 rooms, while keeping the historic building as the project’s centrepiece.
The terminal building will be transformed into restaurants, a nightclub, 3,600 sqm of meeting space and an observation deck to make guests feel welcomed, amidst their travels.
Outside of the main terminal, a restored Lockheed Super Constellation aircraft will house a restaurant and bar. Guests can enjoy a gourmet meal on a plane without leaving the comfort of the runway.
Tyler Morse, CEO of MCR Development said, “Kids will be able to sit in the cockpit of the plane.”
