The UK’s largest Covid-19 PCR testing provider is almost halving the cost of a PCR test.
Randox, which charged around £120 for the tests, announced it would cut prices to £60 for passengers flying with partner airlines.
Although the airlines in question are yet to be confirmed, it is understood they will be major carriers and the discount will be available before the summer.
Randox said it was responding after transport secretary Grant Shapps called for a reduction in the cost of PCR tests for international travel.
The £60 charge is based on a PCR testing kit ordered online for home sample collection with the sample returned to the laboratory for testing.
