Top 10 Highest-Earning Airline Routes Revealed


British Airway’s flight from Heathrow to New York has been revealed as the world’s highest-earning airline route, generating 6% of BA’s total revenue, research by global air travel company OAG shows. 

The second highest earning route, according to OAG who analysed route revenues between April 2017 and March 2018, is Qantas’ service between Melbourne and Sydney, which made £639 million.

Emirates’ route between Heathrow and Dubai, generated £613 million, takes the third spot, followed by Singapore Airlines’ service from Heathrow to Singapore, which earned £531 million.

In fifth place is the American Airlines route between Los Angeles and New York’s JFK, which made £522 million. In sixth place is United Airlines’ service from San Francisco to Newark, which produced £514 million during the time frame analysed.

Another Heathrow service comes in at the seventh place – Cathay Pacific’s route to Hong Kong earned £473 million, followed by the Qatar Airways route from Heathrow to Doha, which gained £413 million.

Ninth on the list is Air Canada’s route between Vancouver and Toronto, which also made £413 million. Lastly, ranked ten on this the list is the Sydney to Singapore route on Singapore Airlines, which made £407 million.
