US Laptop Ban Lifted from Etihad, Emirates and Turkish Airlines


The US ban on carrying laptops in aircraft cabins has been lifted from three major airlines this week. 

Effective immediacy, Etihad Airways, Emirates Airlines and Turkish Airlines are now allowing passengers travelling to the US, to bring electronic devices, including laptops and tablets onboard their flights.

In a statement, Emirates said, "Effective immediately, the electronics ban has been lifted for Emirates' flights from Dubai International Airport to the USA."

Commenting on the lift, Etihad Airways said, “We welcome the decision by the US department of homeland security to lift the electronic devices ban on flights between Abu Dhabi and the United States, following the successful validation of security measures at the US preclearance facility at Abu Dhabi airport.”
